Students in kindergarten through second grades will have
physical education with a specialist one day each week. Additionally, the classroom teacher will
provide opportunities for daily physical activity. |
|
|
Parents are encouraged to ensure that the students are dressed
for safe activity on their physical education day. Student should wear sneakers and clothing that will allow for
unrestricted movement. Sandals,
flip-flops, open toe/heel shoe, or dress shoes and boots will not be allowed
for active participation. Hats may only be worn when participating in outdoor
activities. |

Two K-2electives and two 3-5 electives will be offered each
quarter. Students may choose to have
a physical education class as one of the two electives each quarter. |
|
|
Grade level sheets were developed to
provide grade-by-grade performance indicators for K-5 physical
education. The grade level
performance indicators were based on the North Carolina K-5 Physical
Education Standard Course of Study. |
